InnerBuddies and Verdify collaborate to simplify gut microbiome-based advice for consumers
InnerBuddies, a recent addition to the Foodvalley community, is a Maastricht University spin-off specializing in the gut microbiome space. It provides a comprehensive platform that B2B customers, such as at-home testkit providers and nutritional supplement companies, can use to offer personalized microbiome-based testing solutions to consumers. Available in multiple languages, including English, Dutch, Italian, German, Slovakian, and French, the platform offers tailored recommendations for food ingredients, probiotics, prebiotics, and personalized diet advice based on customers’ food diaries.

InnerBuddies aims to address two key issues in the at-home testing market. The first is actionable advice: many testkit solutions only provide an analysis with vague, generalized recommendations, leaving consumers unsure of the next steps. InnerBuddies focuses on providing clear, actionable advice that’s easy for consumers to follow. The second is personalization: the platform offers highly detailed recommendations tailored to each customer, down to the individual bacteria and ingredients.
To make it even easier for consumers to act on their personalized advice, InnerBuddies has partnered with Verdify. Verdify’s Noory platform enables consumers to get personalised meal inspiration with recipes that automatically adjust to dozens of personal parameters such as taste preferences, health status and dietary advice from healthcare providers. By integrating the InnerBuddies platform with Noory, consumers can search for meals while ensuring that their personalized gut health recommendations are seamlessly included in the recipe suggestions. This collaboration makes it simpler for consumers to adhere to their microbiome-based advice.
InnerBuddies now offers this integrated service to B2B customers via a menu of options, which includes the Noory platform as a subscription interface. Recently, InnerBuddies secured its first customer for this joint service—an at-home testkit provider that operates across seven EU countries—and expects more to follow.
Both InnerBuddies and Verdify share a common shareholder, Genzai, an AI-focused investment company. Genzai developed some of the technology behind both platforms, facilitating this collaboration. In addition to their joint B2B service, InnerBuddies and Verdify are collaborating on clinical research studies with academic partners. These studies use InnerBuddies’ personalized advice to impact specific bacteria linked to certain diseases, while Verdify’s Noory platform improves adherence by helping participants follow the recommended diets and track their meal choices for further analysis.
With its first joint B2B customer signed, InnerBuddies plans to expand this service to other clients, providing at-home testing providers with an opportunity to create recurring revenue streams while offering their customers enhanced support in following up on personalized health advice.
