Are you eligible?
The Redesign Food for Value programme seeks dedicated SME food product manufacturers who meet the following criteria*:
- Company Size and Operations: Small or medium-sized enterprise with 5–250 full-time employees and an annual turnover of € 2–50 million. The company must be legally established in an EU or a Horizon Europe eligible country for at least three years.
- Market Ambitions: Currently marketing a product or planning to launch or expand in the Netherlands, Germany, or Belgium within one year of program completion.
- Motivated to Sustainability and Health: Motivated to embrace the growing trend of sustainable and healthy products, with a willingness to dedicate time, resources, and commitment to product redesign.
- Capacity for Product Development: Ability to develop new products in-house or through partnerships, with a track record of generating revenue from customers, not only from pilot programs.
- Collaboration and Accountability: Open to sharing progress and impact metrics with the Redesign Food for Value consortium and EIT Food during and up to two years post-program to support ongoing evaluation and learning (sharing confidential information is not required).
- Context of operation: Companies must operate within one of the following product categories: Meat and meat analogs, Bakery/Breads, Spreads, Sauces, or Healthy snacks.
- Investment: For a minimal investment of € 500, – to cover fees and administration, the Redesign Food for Value program provides access to market insights, cutting-edge training, and a powerful network of food sector experts. In return, we ask for your commitment to an inspiring two-year journey to redesign products, elevate brand impact, and drive meaningful change in the food industry. What you’ll get from the programme?
Each module requires between 4–8 hours to complete, and you are free to choose the modules that best align with your business needs and goals.
Module 1: Introduction to Impact Measurement

Module 2: Understanding Category Insights
Gain deep insights into your specific product category, learning how to leverage consumer and market dynamics to enhance your product’s positioning.
Module 3: Building Your Brand Narrative
Craft a unique brand story that highlights your product’s value in the market, supported by insights into consumer preferences and effective positioning strategies.
Module 4: Redesigning for Health and Sustainability
Participate in workshops focused on enhancing health and sustainability in food product development or optimisation, with expert-led discussions on practical, scalable solutions.
Module 5: Technology & Reformulation
Discover the latest in food technology and reformulation techniques, with support for testing and refining your product through physical demonstrations.
Module 6: Ingredient and Raw Material Sourcing
Explore sustainable ingredient options and optimize sourcing for value. Connect with a network of suppliers who can support your innovation.
Module 7: Go-to-Market Strategy
Build a strong go-to-market strategy that supports a successful product launch in competitive markets.
Programme timeline

Up to 40 dedicated SME food product manufacturers will participate in the Food for Value programme.
