Foodvalley sharpens its focus to maximise impact

In the years ahead, Foodvalley will continue to strengthen its role in accelerating the transition towards a more sustainable, healthy and fair food system. Entering 2026, we are sharpening our strategic focus on the areas where we consistently create the most value: bringing all relevant stakeholders together through our communities to turn ideas into action, and delivering targeted initiatives that drive collaboration and impact across the agrifood system.

Over the past years, we have initiated and supported a broad range of activities aimed at strengthening the agrifood innovation ecosystem, including efforts to improve coordination and close gaps in venture support. As the ecosystem has further evolved and roles have become more clearly positioned, we have made a deliberate choice to further refine our role. At the same time, changes in our funding and subsidy landscape require us to make deliberate choices about where we invest our time and capacity.

Refining our role

As part of this sharper focus, our activities related to venture programme coordination and broader ecosystem alignment will be carefully entrusted to suitable partners whose core mandate and expertise are closely aligned with these roles.

In addition, we are adjusting our involvement in shared innovation facilities. While we will step back from coordinating future investments in new facilities, we continue to strengthen Foodleap, our digital platform that helps ventures identify and access suitable innovation facilities. By further refining and enriching this platform, we continue to support companies in finding the right infrastructure to scale. Alongside this, we will continue to facilitate the SME Innovation Voucher, enabling SMEs to access essential knowledge, facilities and expertise to speed up their innovation and development.

While our strategic focus evolves, our role and commitment to collaboration and impact does not. We remain a trusted partner for organisations working on the transition towards a more sustainable, healthy and fair food system.
