Update on the Transition of the Regenerative Innovation Portfolio to the EIT Food Resilient Agriculture Portfolio
In the coming months, the Regenerative Innovation Portfolio will transition into a new Resilient Agriculture Portfolio, fully owned and led by EIT Food. This shift reflects the programme’s new delivery model, with EIT Food providing programme funding alongside corporate funding commitments, as well as EIT Food’s strategic direction to focus on thematic scaling initiatives.

The Regenerative Innovation Portfolio was jointly developed and established with Foodvalley and the Food Innovation Hub Europe as a collaboration platform to accelerate the transition towards regenerative agriculture across Europe. Building on this strong foundation, the EIT Food Resilient Agriculture Portfolio will continue to drive systemic change, with a clear focus on strengthening the resilience, sustainability and long-term viability of European agricultural systems.
During the first half of 2026 Foodvalley will hand-over the programme management of the landscapes in five different European countries and phase out gradually in the coming months. As part of this structured and collaborative transition, Foodvalley’s role in the current landscape design activities will be transferred to EIT Food, in such a way as to ensure continuity, stability, and ongoing support across all landscapes.
In parallel, Foodvalley will continue to grow its regenerative agriculture initiatives and ecosystem, including project development, valorisation, and matchmaking activities. Foodvalley will also continue to lead the Regenerative Agriculture Community, which will remain an open, and dynamic platform for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and innovation in regenerative agriculture and landscapes in Europe. The Community will transition to Foodvalley ownership and will be endorsed and actively supported by EIT Food.
This transition period reflects the shared commitment of EIT Food and Foodvalley to advancing regenerative and resilient agricultural systems in Europe, and our joint effort for a seamless continuation of the Regenerative Innovation Portfolio activities under the new structure. The transition will enable both organisations to focus on their respective strengths and long-term strategic priorities, while continuing to foster collaboration, innovation, and develop new initiatives for the future.
