Acceleration Session: From Innovation to Impact Following the partner introductions, the programme continues with an Acceleration Session spotlighting the topic:

Accelerating Demand for Upcycled Products
Through Policy and Cross-Sector Lobbying.

Bringing upcycled products based on unavoidable industrial side streams successfully to market remains challenging, despite increasing policy attention on food waste and circularity. Companies within The Upcycling Community experience persistent barriers around claims, legislation and demand creation, limiting their ability to compete with conventional products.
 
In this online acceleration session, Foodvalley facilitates a focused dialogue between companies and the Dutch Association for the Circular Economy (NVCE). NVCE will share its cross-sector approach to addressing regulatory and market barriers and explain how it works with governments at national and European level to create enabling conditions for circular solutions.
 
Together, we will explore the specific challenges faced by companies of TUC working towards upcycling solutions, identify shared bottlenecks, and discuss opportunities for joint lobbying and collaboration in the direction of national or European government(s). Where possible even across sectors. The session aims to generate concrete input to help public authorities better leverage their role in stimulating market demand and supporting the realisation of circular economy ambitions in practice, including for the agrifood value chain. Outcomes of this session can be input for the NVCE and Foodvalley to provide more guidance in the direction of policy  and in  the case of NVCE possibly cross-sector lobbying.
