€ 2M subsidy vouchers available for SME’s to scale up their innovations

Press release | October 2024

Foodvalley is offering a new voucher programme to SMEs looking for facilities to develop and scale up their innovative products and processes in the agrifood sector. Any project that meets the grant conditions can receive up to 50% of the total project costs, with a maximum of €50,000. A total of €2,000,000 is available for SMEs in Europe with a project that will be executed within the Gelderland or Utrecht Provinces. The funds will be allocated through the ‘first come, first serve’ principle until 2026. The programme was already a great success in 2023 and is now being extended.

Opportunities and possibilities for SMEs

This funding offers SMEs a unique opportunity to access specialised state-of-the-art technology, facilities, knowledge and expertise that would remain out of reach without this support. This accelerates development and testing time, allowing faster scaling up. At the same time, it reduces the financial risks associated with innovation. With this voucher, SMEs can optimally focus on innovating and scaling ground-breaking solutions.

Regional growth

The conditions have been kept accessible to allow as many companies as possible to benefit from this grant. The subsidy also stimulates regional economic development by connecting SMEs with facilities in Gelderland and Utrecht. A strong network gives SMEs extra opportunities for future collaborations and business growth.

Apply

As of today, SMEs can submit a proposal for the voucher programme. Some conditions for participation are:

  • The SME must be established and registered to do business in the Netherlands and/or the EU
  • The innovation facilities to be used must be located in the provinces of Gelderland or Utrecht
  • 50% of the project costs must be directly attributable to the use of a shared facility, including the expertise and operational staff required to carry out the proposed project
